​Meet Information:

Coaches and their high school teams from Connecticut are invited to register for the SCC Coaches Invitational meet on Saturday, January 13, 2018 starting at 9:00am.

  • Coaches interested in participating must submit the required Intent to Enter form where the first 60 non-SCC teams are accepted in addition to SCC teams no later than January 5, 2018.
  • All SCC Coaches must submit an on-time Intent to Enter form as well.
  • The meet is only open for event registration at Athletic.net by coaches of their high school team that are on the list of schools with Intent to Enter forms accepted on the Meet Reports page.
  • Important Note: Similar to the meet last year, the Event Schedule is split where Girls will compete in the morning to early afternoon and then the Boys will compete in the afternoon to early evening.

Facility:

  • The meet will be held at the Floyd Little Athletic Center at Hillhouse High School in New Haven CT. The 25 million dollar facility is one of the finest in the Northeast. It is a six – lane 200-meter flat track, with 6 lanes on the turns and 7 on the straightaway with a Martin 2000 surface.
  • Athletes may only use pyramid spikes = 3/16th of an inch. No Needle spikes allowed.

Registration:

  • EZ Meet Services administers all meet registration in conjunction with the Athletic.net service.
  • All interested coaches must complete an Intent to Enter form on the Meet Registration page no later than 8:00pm on 1/5/2018.
    The online Intent to Enter form is required for Athletic.net event entry, first 60 teams are accepted in addition to SCC teams.
  • All SCC Coaches must submit an on-time Intent to Enter prior to starting their Athletic.net event entry.
  • Athletic.net event entry opens on 12/18/2017 for coaches who have submitted their Intent to Enter forms. Only coaches of teams listed with Accepted Intent to Enter forms at the meet website are invited to participate in the meet and make event entries. Coaches with accepted Intent to Enter forms can make event entries even though their Attendance Status is Unconfirmed. NOTE: The Attendance Status is updated by EZ Meet Services meet management in a periodic review of Intent to Enter forms. Do not send an email asking for update of confirmation status.
    Teams without an accepted Intent to Enter form will be rejected in Athletic.net.
  • Athletic.net event entry deadline for on-time entry is 8:00pm Eastern, Tuesday, January 9, 2018. 6:00 pm Eastern, Sunday, January 7, 2018.
  • No day of meet entries.

Entry Procedures and Limits:

  • Athletes can compete in any two events. No boy/girl may be entered in more than two events, including relays. Entry as an alternate counts as one of the athlete's two events.
  • Two (2) entries per school in each event that meet or better the event standards.
  • One (1) Relay team per school per event (no B teams) that meet or better the event standards.

Entry Fees:

  • Co-ed Teams: $300.00 or 1 Gender Team: $150.00
  • Terms for Intent to Enter for Non-SCC Teams: Team Reservation and Meet cancellation fees are charged as part of the overall meet fee.  As coach representing a team you are required to Accept or Reject the following Meet fees prior to submitting your Intent to Enter information. For teams participating on meet day both fees are included as part of the standard team fee.
    1. Due to the limited capacity for this Indoor meet the Meet Director requires a Team Reservation Fee where if your team doesn't attend the meet and you failed to notify the Meet Director by email by 9pm on Monday 1/1/2018 then payment of $150 (co-ed) or $75 (single gender) is required from the school.
    2. You are also responsible for payment of the Meet Cancellation Fee where if the meet is cancelled due to weather or lack of facility then payment of $25.00 is required from the school to defray meet expenses.
  • Note that Entry fees are charged for ENTERING the meet. You owe for each team entry made online. There are NO REFUNDS for scratches or "no shows."

Meet Rules:

Coaches, please pay special attention to the following:

  • The CIAC order of events for the 2017-18 season will be followed. All rules which govern the CIAC meet series will be in use during this meet.
  • Athletes may only use pyramid spikes = 3/16th of an inch. No Needle spikes allowed.
  • In order to benefit the athletes by ensuring more accurate seeding by coaches and decreasing the time to contest each heat in the event, Meet Director Bob Davis has added the 3200m Run Rule for Boys and Girls in the SCC Coaches Invite:
    3200m Meet Rule: The finish timing of each heat of the 3200m Run will be stopped 1-minute after the winning time and athletes who have not finished the race will be asked to step off the track.
  • Coaches and athletes will be asked to stay away from the finish line as there will be FAT system in use.
  • Implement Check: All implements must be checked in by an inspector prior to use in the meet. Violators will be disqualified for using implements that have not passed meet inspection.
