Welcome to the 25th CT Middle School State XC Championship

Coaches of Connecticut middle school teams are invited to register their teams for the 25th CT Middle School State XC Championship starting at 10:30 am on Saturday, November 4, 2017. The meet is open to all Connecticut middle school coaches and their athletes competing with their middle school team in 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grades. The meet is also open to Connecticut Club teams and individual participants for middle school athletes in 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grades. Note that Club teams are not eligible for team scoring and team awards.

In celebration of the 25th year of the meet a special presentation will be held to honor coaches that have participated in all 25 Championship meets.

New registration details this year include:

  • New school assignments to East and West of CT River divisions where some West schools have been assigned to the East to balance race sizes. See 2017 Team Assignments for East-West Divisions chart on Meet Registration page at meet website.
  • Wickham Park management has limited the number of total participants such that all 'B' Races have a team limit of 15 runners, a decrease from 20 runners from last season.
  • Wickham Park management has raised the parking fee to $10.00 per car. A portion of the parking fee is used to hire police services for vehicles entering and leaving the park.
  • All event entry registration now uses the Athletic.net entry system. Coaches should prepare well in advance to setup their Athletic.net coaching account in order to properly register for the meet.

2017 OCEAN STATE XC INVITATIONAL - Register your school now; enter your runners in September

Registration is now open for the 11th Annual Ocean State XC High School Invitational to be held on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Goddard State Park, 1095 Ives Road, Warwick RI  02818.

Middle school races for grades 6, 7, and 8 will be held on Friday, September 22 from 3:40 to 6:00.  Last year more than 1,500 middle school runners entered the meet.

The 2016 High School meet included 181 teams and more than 3,000 runners from CT, MA, NH, NJ, NY, and RI.   Connecticut had a huge presence in the meet with 41 teams competing.  Awards were spread across several states.  Eight boys broke into the all-time top 25: Noah Carey – Guilderland NY;  Sam Toolin – North Kingstown RI;  Noah Tindale – Guilderland NY;  Ben Kovacs – St John's HS MA;  Kyle Beaudette – Amity CT;  Joey DeFeo – Delbarton NJ;  Thomas Lingard – Lexington MA and Tristan Shelgren – St John's Prep MA.  The four girls who earned top 25 honors were Grace Connolly – Natick MA; Katherine DeLoreto – Tolland CT;  Randi Burr – Westerly RI and Hayley Collins – Tolland CT.

Goddard Park is known for its rolling hills and scenic trail views overlooking the Greenwich Bay on its spectator-friendly course.  Ample room is available for warmup and team tents.   Sanctions have been requested from CO, CT, MA, ME, NH, NJ, NY, NC, PA, RI, VA, and VT.

Welcome to the 59th Nonnewaug XC Invitational

Connecticut coaches and their teams are invited to participate in the 59th Nonnewaug Invitational Cross Country Meet starting at 3:45pm on Friday, September 29, 2017. The meet is open to all Connecticut coaches and their high school age athletes competing with their high school team. The meet will be held at the Nonnewaug High School course/facility in Woodbury, CT. Teams need to arrive after 2:30pm in order for NHS buses to exit the school grounds.

Welcome to the Hale Ray Invitational

Meet Director David Kraszewki invites Connecticut coaches to register their high school cross-country teams for the Hale Ray Invitational on Saturday 9/30/2017 starting at 10:00am at Hale Ray High School in Moodus, CT. The race course is a mix of trails and grass with one gradual hill repeated twice. Chip timing and results provided by Fast Track Timing LLC.

High School coaches interested attending in the meet can start by adding the meet to their Athletic.net 2017 Season Calendar and then start Athletic Net event entries on 9/4/2017 with a deadline of 6:00pm on Sunday 9/24/2017.

Welcome to the CCC Cross Country Championship Meet

Central Connecticut Conference coaches and their teams are invited to the CCC Cross Country Championship Meet starting at 3:00pm on Tuesday, October 17, 2017. The meet is open for registration by coaches representing their high school age athletes competing with their high school teams of the Central Connecticut Conference. (Rain date is Thursday, October 19, 2017. In case of inclement weather a decision will be made by 12 noon and an email will be sent to all Athletic Directors. )

Welcome to the Naugatuck Valley League XC Championship Meet

Naugatuck Valley League coaches and their team are invited to compete in the Naugatuck Valley League Cross Country Championship meet starting at 2:30 PM on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 with a coaches meeting at 2:15pm. The meet is open for registration by coaches of their high school age athletes competing with their Naugatuck Valley League high school team.

The meet will be held at the Veterans' Memorial Park in Watertown, CT. The course is a 3.1 mi. fast, flat course on grass and gravel trails. Please make sure to read all Meet Information, Registration Instructions and Schedule of Events at the meet website.

Welcome to the Wickham Park XC Invitational

Meet Director Bill Baron welcomes any state and regional high schools to the Wickham Park XC Invitational scheduled for Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Wickham Park in Manchester CT. The meet is NFHS sanctioned for the six New England states and New York. The meet starts at 9:00am with special Middle School races and is followed by Freshman races, Junior Varsity races and a full slate of Varsity races in UnSeeded, Seeded and Championship divisions.

Coaches are reminded to visit the meet website to review the Meet Information, Registration Instructions and Order of Events pages for all meet details and deadlines as well as to complete the online Intent to Enter form as soon as possible.

Since race administration provides complete Varsity, Junior Varsity, Freshman, and Middle School results, there is on-line entry for ALL athletes: Varsity, Junior Varsity, Freshman, and Middle School rosters using the Athletic.net registration system.  Please note that Junior Varsity athletes MUST be entered and registered. A reminder that Junior Varsity runners (teams) will be assigned to JV Race 1 or JV Race 2 or JV Race 3 based on the total number of entrants to ensure equal number of participants in each race.

Welcome to the 6th Harry Geraghty XC Invite

Connecticut coaches are invited to register their teams for the 6th Harry Geraghty XC Invite starting at 9:00 am on Saturday, September 30, 2017. The meet is now directed by Coach Peter Anthony of South Windsor HS and has been relocated to the Nevers Park XC Course in South Windsor. The meet is open to Connecticut high school age athletes competing with their high school team. Connecticut Middle school coaches are also invited to register their Middle school boys and girls teams in grades 6-7-8.

The meet is limited to the coaches of the first 15 high schools in the small and large school divisions to submit their Intent to Enter form to protect the integrity of the race and runners. All profits go to the Harry Geraghty Scholarship Fund.

Welcome to the 6th Winding Trails XC Invitational

Coaches are invited to register their teams for the 6th Winding Trails XC Invitational starting at 9:00 am on Saturday, September 23, 2017. This invitational is one of the true cross country meets of the season as the course winds its way throughout the wonderful paths of the Winding Trails facility. There will also be spectator friendly viewing areas for everyone to enjoy. The meet is open to all high school age athletes competing with their high school team.

A CIAC Border sanction allows registration for coaches from high schools in New York, Massachusetts and Rhode Island in addition to Connecticut.

Welcome to the 7th Ct River Valley Invitational

Coaches are invited to register their teams for the 7th Connecticut River Valley Invitational starting at 8:30 am on Saturday, September 16, 2017 with Race Check-in between 7:15-8:15am. The meet is open to all Connecticut coaches and their high school athletes competing for their high school team. The meet is also open to all Connecticut coaches and their middle school age athletes competing with their middle school team in grades 6, 7, 8.

The meet is limited to the first 20 high school coaches and first 15 middle school coaches to submit their Intent to Enter form for their team.
