NEW ALERT – Sunday Start for 26th CT Middle School State XC Championships

ATTENTION Coaches, ADs and Parents - Earlier today Meet Director Mike Bendzinski announced that due to high wind forecast for Saturday afternoon and the potential of falling trees and limbs, the 26th CT Middle School State XC Championships is postponed to Sunday, November 4, 2018 with the original schedule of a start time of 10:30pm for the first race. Wickham Park opens for course inspection on Sunday at 8:00am with the last course walk at 9:15am. Please address ALL meet questions to: Meet Director. Mike Bendzinski.   • Do not send any emails for scratching athletes from the meet.

  • All Unattached Individual Athletes must present a completed 2018 Liability Waiver form in order to compete.
  • Every athlete must have a race number in order to compete.
  • Please assign the correct race number with chip in the bib to the correct athlete. Substitutions may be made up to 9:30am.
  • Any seven runners from your team listed on the Final Entries report may compete in the 'A' race. Teams and Individuals are not required to compete in the 'A' race.

The Team Entry reports for the 2018 Berkshire League XC Championship have been emailed to coaches and are available at the EZ Meet Services Meet Reports page in PDF format for coaches who have completed their event entries by the entry deadline.

  • Changing the designation of a runner from Varsity to JV or from JV to Varsity is permitted on race day. Changes must be reported to the timing company as early as possible.  Any change must be made at least 15 minutes before the start of each race.  Absolutely no changes can be made after the start of a race.  This is especially important for the Girls race because Varsity and JV run in the same race.  Only runners designated as Varsity will be scored in the team competition.  Only 7 runners can be designated as Varsity for each Varsity race.

Special Instructions:

At this year's 2018 CCC XC Championships FastTrack Timing Service will be using disposable chip timing. Each athlete will be assigned a bib number that is to be worn on their CHEST (below your school name on the singlet). The bib number should be fully visible.  The bib is not to be worn anywhere else! 

  • If you have athletes who will not be competing, then please do not take their numbers at packet pick up.  Any unused numbers should be returned!
  • Athletes who compete may keep their bib number and chip as it a disposable chip.
  • Athletes are only to cross the finish line during their race.
  • After they finish their respective races they are to exit the finish area.
  • No athlete with a bib number may stand directly next to or near the finish line while watching or cheering.
  • Please treat the finish line the same as a track meet with Photo finish cameras!

Final Team Entry Reports Posted for 35th Wickham Park XC Invitational

The final Team Entry reports for the 35th Wickham Park XC Invitational scheduled for Saturday October 6, 2018 are available on the Meet Reports page at the meet website for coaches to review.

  • Do not send any emails for changes to meet entries. The final entry file has been provided to NorthEast Sports Timing Services for processing.
  • REMINDER: On day of meet each team will be allowed to make up to 5 substitutions (replacements) to their roster for each race for those athletes not already listed in meet reports posted at the meet website. Forms will be available at the officials tent and must be filled out and returned no later than 30 minutes prior to the race in question. Coaches don't need to report switching a previously registered athlete between races (example: switch an athlete from Freshman race to the JV race or JV race to Varsity race.).
  • The High School JV Race assignments are included in the 35thWickhamParkInvite-Final_HS_Teams-Assigned_Race_Events report.
  • Do not send any emails for scratching athletes from the meet.

  • Please make sure to make your entry fee payment as soon as possible or bring your check for payment when picking up your registration packet for your team to compete in the meet.
  • COACHES: Please note that Wickham Park will be closed by 3:00pm on Friday, October 5, 2018. Make sure that you schedule any course reviews to conclude by that time.

Reminder – Deadlines Approaching for 35th Wickham Park XC Invitational

Coaches are reminded of 2 important deadlines for the 35th Wickham Park XC Invitational slated for Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Wickham Park in Manchester CT.

  1. Coaches must start their meet registration by submitting the required Intent to Enter form on the Meet Registration page before 9:00pm on Friday, September 28, 2018 to be eligible for event registration in Athletic.net
  2. Coaches must finish their meet registration with Athletic Net event entries by 6:00pm Eastern, Sunday, September 30, 2018. Coaches are required to submit online entries using the Athletic.net registration system for athletes in all race divisions since race administration provides complete Varsity, Junior Varsity, Freshman, and Middle School results.
    A reminder that Junior Varsity runners (teams) will be assigned to JV Race 1 or JV Race 2 or JV Race 3 based on the total number of entrants to ensure equal number of participants in each race.

Coaches should review the Meet Information, Registration Instructions and Order of Events pages at the 35th Wickham Park XC Invitational meet website for all meet details and deadlines.
